How old have to be the puppy when you can put frontline? My puppies (10 puppies) are 1 month old,and my vet said to me that they can treat with frontline already (because they got fleas ) and I do it yesterday. But today I heard that it is too early and I´m scared now. They are acting normal, everything is the same as 3 days before, they look fine, but I don´t know what consequences might be.Can anyone tell me did I do the terrible mistake?

Hi rea2004. I have read about frontline, that it not must be use for puppies under 8 weeks old.
Best wishes from Frejas mom, Maja

As I understand it frontline can be used on very young puppies. I have read as young as 3 days old. If your vet gave you the okay, then I think it safe to say he should know what he´s doing.

The only bad thing about frontline and similar treatments that I have read, is that when it is stored incorrectly, i.e. too warm, it can go off and become poisonous. I always keep mine in the garage, which is cooler than the house.

I heard that Frontline in not the best brand... I forgot where I read it though. It was a comparison on brands on the internet.

I use Frontline along with Sintinel Flavor Tabs. Sand fleas are a problem where I live. They have worked great for me.

Frontline is for fleas and ticks! Keep with your vet and your dog should be fine. Bash had puppy mange and she was fine after a couple of weeks.
Good luck to you!

Other than what your vet recommends the only thing I might add is something like yogurt with probiotics to help encourage skin health. Other than that I would stick with what my vet thinks.

As for Frontline, personally I prefer Advantix BUT it cannot be used on very young puppies the way that Frontline can. For pups that age I think that Frontline is the best thing you can use.

have been using frontline since I got my first dog Gipsy, thn Benji and now Harry, but must say all of them jioned our family when they were 3 months. I have always stuck to frontline and my dogs have never got any problems , it has worked really well.
A few months ago I started using Advantix:, following the breeder´s suggestion: I use it every month, and after 20 days I spray about 30 puffs of frontline as here the problem of mosquitos and consequently the risk of leishmania is very high.

I absolutely loooovveee FRONTLINE. This is the best product they have for fleas and ticks. It´s water proof, and young puppies as old as 4 weeks can have it. Its wonderful, my little Princess (Oreo) has not gotten one flea or tick ever since she´s been on Frontline.

front line is a great product however as far as i know it is not to be used under 8 weeks old....you should probably go with what the product says not your vet.....its not like its that far away anyways...

Yes agree Frontline is the best. Been using it for several years now and never had problem with fleas or ticks. Also good that it is waterproof.
