well, some people here in our country dont pick up after their pets....which irritates me alot...i always pick up after my dogs, i always bring with me some tissue and bags to pick up their poo...

there was this one time, a boy was walking his dog, a big dog(which means large poo), they stopped at the front of my grandpa´s restaurant and poop right there! when the dog was finished he just left it there! i wasnt there, but i saw one of our helpers cleaning it up..if only i was there i would really talk to him about cleaning up after his dog...

We have an open field near our house where the neighborhood dogs run and no one ever really picks it up (we´re out in the country though). Whenever we take the dogs somewhere else we definitely pick up after them!

U.K. - some people do pivck up poo .... some peole don´t ... you are supposed to get fined if you don´t pick up the poo but there seems to be no-one around to catch the people who leave the poo for you to step in!!!

What could be worst than a dog owner bringing his dog in front of other´s front and do the business there and just simply leave it.I even put a sign telling him to let his dog pooh in his own house.

This is true Sylviastar @ not many do it despite the threat of being fined, dog poo bins being attached to lamposts so we can dispose of it properly.

My old neighbour would let both his little dogs take themselves for walks around my neighbourhood. They would poop wherever they wanted to and no one would clean it up. Every time i went outside to clean up my own dogs business in my own yard, there would be a little shi tzu poo to clean up too. Why woudl someone do that??? People can be so disgusting sometimes.

In S Africa you will get a fine if you are spotted not picking up your dogs poo. However, it´s good in theory, but I´ve never known anyone to get a fine - yet I do see dog poo on the paths and in parks.

i always do im not going to risk the £120.00 fine

15.May 2008 20:55

It´s the same in our country. People should pick it because there is fine if you don´t do it, but...... And the worst situation is in the bigger cities- people let their dogs poo on the path.. it´s disgusting.
And I have also found out that people with larger dogs pick this, because it´s too big to hide it or pretend it´s not here but the ones who own smaller dogs are more likely to let it on the street.. It´s horrible.
I´d feel ashamed just standing and not picking it up while everyone is watching you.

I agree Vampire Queen, the only cure is BIG FINE,....and everybody will be "polite"

Despite our local council putting dog poo bins everywhere and even handing out free bags for dog owners to use, we still have a lot of owners who just don´t bother. I hate having to take Barney out in the evenings here because more often than not I end up standing in poo.
We always pick up after Barney, sure it´s not the most pleasant of tasks, but it´s just part and parcel of being a responsible dog owner.

I don´t let my dog do her business on the street especially not in front of someone´s door. I take her to a special park where it is not neccesary to pick it up and there is also no rule there to do it, no one does. It´s also not all that easy for me if Cindy runs around and I would not be able to find it since I´m blind. But of course if I would notice my dog doing it somewhere where she´s not supposed to, I will clean up after her.
Love Monique, Cindy and Ninka

in england people are supposed to clean up after their dog,we have doggy bins for it,but some owners turn a blind eye when their pet is pooing, sniff my dog an stella luckily always go and poo in our back garden we pick up poo, but when we go out funnily enough they wait till they get home and let it all out,,,strange but easiy for me,,,i love my doggies.

I always take a bag with me when we got out walking, unless we are far out in the country. I intend to pick it up in my own yard, too, when I get one - who wants poop all over the place? I actually found a composter that is just for animal waste which looks interesting.

I always clean up after my dogs. I always think about blind people, probably cos I had a friend that was blind once and knew what a problem it was for them.

16.May 2008 01:42

i always pick it up, no matter if it´s on the sidewalk or on the grass in the park or doggie-park! we live in a crowded city, so it´s very likely someone will step on it if on the sidewalk or children will get dirty if in the park.... but not everybody here has the same concerns though, you can see poo especially in the parks....

16.May 2008 02:34

We have "Honden uitlaat" areas for dogs too poop, basically an enclosed area for your dog to do his dirty pile shuffle... but being from the UK I pick it up anyway... I mean from a Chi it´s not exactly a huge pile! Many here though let there dogs crap anywhere and everywhere and there it stays.... pretty disgusting.

but it´s not fun no more when it´s you who accidentally "wipes" the poo... x_X

Philippines - dog owners walk dogs on the small side walks and poos everywhere. Not all owners pick them up but majority of poo is due to stray dogs (which, thankfully, is lessened by now... thanks to the zoo in our city!)
