Hello to everybody who will answer to this tread I would love to hear love stories about this breed who many people have misunderstood

Our story goes like this : I didn´t actually choose to own a pit, but the pit chose me, although I always admired and loved the breed for their strengh, their determination and their loyalty.
I found my precious Ektoras on a cold February day on my way to work when he was one and a half months old wondering on the streets. I took him with me to work and the same day I carried him to my home to make him the new family member It never crossed my mind the thought that some people consider pitbulls to be one of the most dangerous breeds. I strongly believe and I think that I am prooved right, that a dog is what humans want him to be.... If you give and teach love then the dog will act with love. I never had problems with my pit and as far as I know none of my pit owner friends had either
I am waiting for your opinions and stories boys and girls

My first pit chose me as well. Or actually chose my boyfriend. I work for animal control and we went to my work to pick out a dog when we opened the cage of puppies one of the climed up his are and nuzzled into his neck/shoulder. He never set foot back in that cage. We took him home and he is the greatest dog ever.

Actually my husband & I had decided that we would get a puppy to help him get over his fear of dogs. We looked online for several different breeds & decided that we would try to find a pit first & if we couldn´t then we had like 3 or 4 other breeds in mind. We told our friend we were looking for a male pit & she said that they had one in a brand new litter of pups. She took him in to her house & took care of him for a month while we got our house & yard relatively puppy proof. He came into our home a month ago & he has been wonderful. XD Aside from being a bit of a brat sometimes....but what 3month old isn´t? XP

I have had Pitbulls since I was about 3 years old. They are the only breed of dog I will ever own. Pitbulls have been in my family for generations. I have them now, my parents have them and my grandparents have as well as the rest of my family. We were all raised with Pitbulls. They are the greatest breed of dog that there is, in my opinion.

This is not really related to your thread. I have an american staffordshire terrier..long long story short I took her in after my best friend past away. Casey is 11 yrs old now and has pretty much raised my dal and my lab ohh and plays with our 3 cats... when my friend past away i made a big donation to www.badrap.com
Go to this site. Pitt´s have a bad rap. It´s not the dog i´t´s the owner. I have been training part time since I was 15...dogs are dogs be the pack leader and they will follow.... just thought I´d share...:0)

we chose a pit bull because my boyfriend is in love with them he thinks they are beautiful dogs and strong he hates how people react to them so i think he like to prove them wrong by showing him a sweet pit. i found out that a friend of ours knew someone needed to get rid of one so i went to look at her and she was beautiful, red nose and gorgous, it was out anniversary so i got it for him, we are also havin a baby so i was worried about a pit, but by getting her i have realized that it is definanlty not the dog thats bad its the owner. besides her being extremely strong already for me, she is the sweetest dog i would ever hope for and although she is stubborn she does listen oddly well.
we love our addition, to our honey, we love her.

We had a friend that had pits, When I saw his one male pit I new I wanted one. We waited patiently for 2 years for him to breed. We got our pup 2 years ago and he is the sweetest dog we have ever owned. We just got a female pit about a month ago and she is sweet also. We have an 11 year old, a 12 year old and a 7 month old and we have never had a problem with the dogs and the kids playing together. I too believe that if you don´t show a dog love and a happy home they will not give love. To all the haters out there PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED. ANy dog can be mean it is how they are are raised that make them the way they are. Our pits names are Dank and Kitty. My kids absolutely love these dogs. Good luck to all you pit owners. I know first hand that they are sweet dogs. God Bless everyone who is willing to fight to keep this breed from being banned.

We have now decided that we will only be getting pit or pit mixes. We don´t want any other type of dog. After you get a pit it´s just like no other breed is good enough. We´re currently thinking of getting Ravage a little sister, but we don´t know how we´ll handle pampering two puppies instead of one. XD
